We are what we eat, and consuming protein is one building block in our body. With its chain of amino acids, protein actually repairs cells and promotes the growth of new ones in our body. This action builds muscle, keeps our skin, hair and nails beautiful, and pumps up the immune system. There are plenty of foods with top proteins, so including them into your daily diet isn’t hard. Here are five that could become your favorites.

Any meat, poultry , or fish sources are a good way to get protein into your meal plan . Animal protein is probably the easiest way to get the recommended daily allowance, but don’t overlook the amount of fat you will consume at the same time.

Whether you are eating meat, chicken, or fish, get into the habit of removing the skin and just dive into the lean meat. Also, don’t overdo the amount of fleshy proteins per day. The size of your palm usually equates to a 3 to 4 ounce serving. Use flesh as your protein source no more than twice a day. But, don’t worry; there are other ways to get this important nutrient.
