It’s undeniable that Rihanna was hyped and devoted to the soccer games taking place in Brazil for the 2014 World Cup during its month-long sports event. Let’s not forget her spotlight at the finals when she partied with winning team Germany and their golden trophy.
Though she clearly had the time of her life, the Barbados singer still has soccer fever post World Cup. Word on the street, she wants to own a UK soccer club.

The “Diamonds” singer has new plans ahead which include becoming a chairwoman or owner for a team in England and setting up a sports academy in her native Barbados. Apparently she’s “really serious” and has been getting some friendly advice from Chelsea player Didier Drogba, according to many reports.
“At first we thought Rihanna’s desire to be involved with soccer on a business level would soon blow over,” a source close to the hit-making superstar said. “We figured she was still on a high from the World Cup. But now it’s becoming clear she really is serious.”
Riri seems very impressed with the world’s most popular sport, that she is also considering to take over a soccer club in Los Angeles.
“Britain is like a second home to her, although she’s also hinted she may do something with an LA team,” the source stated.
If all goes as planned, Rihanna will jump on the bandwagon with the many celebrities who own a sports team or have a similar goooooal. Take these three, for instance.
In 1977, Elton John became the first chairman and director of English soccer club Watford FC. He owned them for about 30 years.
Former Miami Heart athlete, Lebron James, owns a small splice of Liverpool FC team. It’s been reported that at times he travels to England to check up on them.
And let’s not forget soccer superstar David Beckham’s ultimate plan to build a soccer club in Miami.
