Telemundo Special: “Enfoque: “Immigration Reform Zero Hour,” Live from the National Council of La Raza Convention in New Orleans This Sunday, July 21 at 12PM/11AM C

As part of its extensive “Reforma Migratoria Hora Cero” (Immigration Reform Zero Hour) news coverage, Telemundo will present a special edition of its Sunday public affairs program, “Enfoque con José Díaz-Balart,” live from the 13th National Council of la Raza (NCLR) convention in New Orleans this Sunday, July 21 at 12PM/11AM C. In an ongoing effort to inform Hispanic audiences and encourage civic participation in the debate over immigration reform, the one-hour special, “Enfoque: Reforma Migratoria Hora Cero,” will include the latest information about the negotiations to approve the bill in the House of Representatives; interviews with key leaders in this process; and opinions and commentary from experts on the topic and prominent figures in the Hispanic community. The program will offer a comprehensive overview of the reform bill and explore the different ways it could affect Hispanics in this country.

Hosted by renown journalist José Díaz-Balart, “Enfoque: Reforma Migratoria Hora Cero” will feature a dialogue with political analyst and University of Texas Professor Victoria de Francesco and other subject-matter experts. The program will also air excerpts from an open forum – “Más allá de la Reforma Migratoria: educación como el catalizador de la integración de los inmigrantes” (Beyond Immigration Reform: Education as the Catalyst for Integrating Immigrants) – moderated by José Díaz-Balart on Saturday, July 20 at the NCLR convention, with the participation of NCLR President Janet Murguía, White House Domestic Policy Director Cecilia Muñoz, actress and activist Eva Longoria, Dr. Marcelo Suarez-Orozco of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and other prominent Latino leaders.

“Enfoque: Reforma Migratoria Hora Cero” will also include a segment focusing on the future Hispanic leaders with the participation of Hispanic celebrities. Likewise, the program will feature interviews of local Latino leaders in a segment about the vibrant Hispanic community in New Orleans, a city considered a microcosm of US ethnic relations.
