84 Lumber Partners with The DeAngelo Williams Foundation For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Collaboration Aims to Support Research and Highlight Visibility of
Important Cause

EIGHTY FOUR, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–When you’re an iconic global brand based in Pittsburgh, and you want to
drive support for those impacted by breast cancer, having someone like
DeAngelo Williams playing right in your backyard is ideal. Together, 84
Lumber
and Williams will partner to bring awareness to breast cancer
research.

84 Lumber, which serves as a long-time sponsor of the Pittsburgh
Steelers, is partnering with the organization’s star running back to
donate $15,000 to The
DeAngelo Williams Foundation
this month.

Adorned with pink dreads and pink toenails, Williams has been an
advocate for breast cancer awareness. Williams’ mother, Sandra Hill,
lost her battle to breast cancer at the age of 53, while his four aunts,
Linda Faye, 32, Mamie Earl, 46, Mary Beatrice, 44 and Theresa Gaye, 49,
all lost their battle with breast cancer before they turned 50. Through
his namesake philanthropic initiative, he has made headlines for his
vocal activism including challenging the NFL’s uniform policy on wearing
pink all season, donating mammograms to women in need, and raising money
through shirt sales.

“I’m excited to partner with a company like 84 Lumber, who shares the
same values of giving back in the communities they have ties to,”
Williams said. “When they reached out about how they could help my
foundation’s Breast Cancer initiatives, it was a no-brainer and I
couldn’t be more appreciative.”

In addition to contributions to the foundation, 84 Lumber will also host
Williams at their company headquarters in Eighty Four where he will
speak with current employees about his experiences with breast cancer
and help educate them on the need for preventative care and early
screenings.

“Adding the DeAngelo Williams Foundation to our Building
Hope
program strengthens our ability to help customers and local
residents,” said Becky Mancuso, vice president, marketing and public
relations at 84 Lumber. “This is a perfect fit for us, our employees,
and our community.”
