97% of Arkansas Virtual Academy Students Benefitted Academically in 2015-2016

— Students return to online public school August 15th

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Students at Arkansas
Virtual Academy
(ARVA), a full-time online public school serving
students in grades K through 12, will begin their 2016-2017 school year
on August 15th as the program marks its 10th year of
operation in the state. According to a spring 2016 survey conducted by
Edge Research, 97% of the families with students enrolled in the school
during the 2015-2016 school year felt that their child had benefitted
academically from the curriculum.

ARVA combines online instruction and hands-on curriculum with the
support of Arkansas-licensed teachers who are available online and by
phone. ARVA is the only school in the state to offer the complete K12
curriculum, developed by K12 Inc., the nation’s largest provider of
proprietary curriculum and online education programs.

“We’re excited to welcome new and returning families to our program this
year,” said Scott Sides, Head of School at Arkansas Virtual Academy. “At
ARVA, we’re dedicated to bringing an excellent educational choice to
Arkansas families. Our school provides an individualized experience
designed to support the learning style of each student.”

At ARVA, college- or career-minded students can choose from a broad
range of profession-focused courses in order to gain a competitive edge
for the future, discover their path after high school or explore a
potential college major.

Additionally, ARVA provides opportunities that complement the curricular
interests of its students. Families have the chance to participate in
numerous field trips and outings, enabling students, teachers, parents,
and the entire school community to keep in close contact all year round.

Earlier this summer ARVA challenged enrolled families to prevent summer
‘brain drain’ by offering students free access to LearnBop,
a self-paced solution that simulates a one-on-one, personalized math
tutoring experience. The award-winning online program will continue to
be available free of charge throughout the fall and can be used
alongside the regular math curriculum to build math skills or prepare
for high-level exams.
