NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–A CALL TO MEN™ will honor leaders in the National Football League and
National Hockey League working to promote healthy, respectful manhood
and prevent violence against all women and girls at its Envision a World
Gala on May 25. Honorees include:

Troy Vincent, Executive Vice President of Football Operations,
National Football League –
A CALL TO MEN Award for Institutional
Change: honors an individual or organization using their influence to
promote healthy, respectful manhood and prevent violence against women
and girls at the institutional level.

Mark Herzlich, Linebacker, New York Giants – Next Generation of
Manhood Award: honors a man who has embraced and promotes a healthy,
respectful manhood, using his platform to raise awareness for the
prevention of violence against women and girls.

Jessica Berman, Vice President, Special Projects & Corporate Social
Responsibility, National Hockey League –
A CALL TO MEN RESPECT
Award: recognizes individuals working to promote respect and equality,
and implementing programs or partnerships that further those values.

Anna Isaacson, Senior Vice President, Social Responsibility, National
Football League –
A CALL TO MEN RESPECT Award: recognizes
individuals working to promote respect and equality, and implementing
programs or partnerships that further those values.

Ana Oliveira, CEO, New York Women’s Foundation – A CALL TO MEN
ENVISIONary Award: pays tribute to women whose vision helps create a
world where all men and boys are loving and respectful and all women and
girls are valued and safe. This award is given in honor of all the women
who have advanced the movement to prevent violence against women and
girls.

The event will be emceed by Jemele Hill, ESPN reporter and host of “His
& Hers with Michael Smith and Jemele Hill.”

The gala event, called Envision a World – A Celebration of
Advancements in Sports Culture
, will highlight A CALL TO MEN’s
worldwide effort to educate men on healthy, respectful manhood.
Embracing and promoting a healthy, respectful manhood prevents violence
against women, sexual assault, sexual harassment, bullying and many
other social ills.

Healthy, respectful manhood is also linked to improved physical health
and emotional well-being for men. When boys are told not to cry or feel,
there are long-term lasting negative effects on their health and
relationships. Research
by the Harvard School of Public Health
found that those who suppress
their emotions are one-third more likely to die prematurely than people
who regularly express what they are feeling. Issue of rage, anxiety,
depression and unhealthy coping mechanisms can manifest. According to
the CDC,
the suicide rate is four times higher in men than in women.
