AmeriHealth Caritas Iowa, Iowa Area Agencies on Aging Partner to Deliver Senior Services to Iowa Medicaid Recipients

, a Medicaid managed care health plan that will serve
Iowa Medicaid beneficiaries as part of the state’s new IA Health Link
program beginning March 1, 2016*, and the Iowa
Association of Area Agencies on Aging
(i4a), announced today the
signing of new contracts that will allow AmeriHealth Caritas Iowa
members access to the elder care services provided by i4a’s member Area
Agencies on Aging (AAAs) across the state.

Based in Des Moines, i4a is a trade association representing the six
AAAs in Iowa. The six agencies cover all of the state’s 99 counties,
providing case management, meal preparation, home care, education,
transportation, home repair, emergency response and other services for
individuals age 60 or older. With i4a’s partnership with AmeriHealth
Caritas Iowa, eligible members will be able to access these services
from the following AAAs:

  • Aging Resources of Central Iowa, Des Moines.
  • Connections Area Agency on Aging, Western and Southwestern Iowa.
  • Elderbridge Area Agency on Aging, Northern Iowa.
  • Heritage Area Agency on Aging, Cedar Rapids.
  • Milestones Area Agency on Aging, Southeastern Iowa.
  • Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging, Northeastern Iowa.

The new IA Health Link program will serve the majority of Iowa’s
Medicaid population, or about 560,000 Iowans, through select managed
