beTravelwise: New Corporate Travel Safety Specialist

LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–beTravelwise, a new travel safety training specialist providing
innovative, flexible, training for common health, security and travel
issues and risks, faced by employees on business trips abroad, has
launched today.

With a blended mix of eLearning, virtual classroom and traditional
face-to-face training options, it is the first company to offer a course
in personal travel risk mitigation strategy for the lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender (LGBT) corporate audience.

beTravelwise promotes safe corporate travel practices, which comply with
statutory Duty of Care for travelling employees. The cost effective
training modules cover a variety of common risks business travellers
face, which include: road traffic accidents; loss of items; diarrhoea
and petty crime – all largely avoidable if considered in advance – as
well as the rare, extreme scenarios such as terrorism and kidnapping.

beTravelwise Director Saul Shanagher comments: “There is a real need for
organisations across the board to review their travel risk management
programmes to ensure they provide the necessary level of training for
all employees on overseas business. Our concise, blended approach
provides practical, scalable, cost-effective training solutions suitable
for all destinations, not just the high risk ones. Results from our
training programme trials have had additional benefits too, including
reduced travel stress levels and increased corporate travel productivity
for employees.”

Cost-effective, flexible training options:

eLearning: provides engaging, concise courses that can be completed at
the users convenience, wherever they are in the world, reducing costs
associated with attending live training.

Virtual Classroom: convenient for organisations who have difficulty
assembling employees in one location but still require interaction with
a travel safety expert. It also allows a global network of consultants
to deliver destination specific training.

Face to face training: ensures dedicated focus away from the noise and
pressures of work. A physical group setting allows for constructive team
building exercises and promotes employee interaction in a controlled
environment.

The team behind beTravelwise has extensive market experience. Director
Saul Shanagher was previously Global Head of Travel Security Training
for International SOS, the world’s leading assistance company. The
company is a member of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel
Association (IGLTA) and is a partner in the Government Foreign and
Commonwealth Office initiative ‘Know Before You Go’ campaign https://www.gov.uk/knowbeforeyougo
