SBA Houston District’s “Women in Business Champion of the Year” will
Share Experiences and Insight with Fellow Entrepreneurs

HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#Ag–Helen Callier, president of Bradlink LLC, will serve as emcee at the
Texas Department of Agriculture-hosted Capital
for Texas Small Business Forum taking place May 5, 2016 in Austin,
Texas. The complimentary event, which is held in conjunction with U.S.
Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Week May 1-7, is
geared toward small, minority, women-owned, disadvantaged and
historically underutilized businesses. Held in the Capitol Auditorium
and Legislative Conference center, the Capital for Texas Small Business
Forum provides both extensive learning and networking opportunities for
attendees.

Callier, who is also presenting at the forum, was recently recognized as
“Women in Business Champion of the Year” by the U.S. Small Business
Administration for the Houston District. Callier, a widely respected
innovator and mentor for women- and minority-owned business owners, will
be presented with the award at the May 12 Houston Small Business Awards
Luncheon, sponsored by SCORE Houston, to be held at the JW Marriott
Houston.

Callier is deeply committed to investing her time and expertise to
benefit the small business community. “This year’s Small Business Week

entrepreneurs and small business leaders play in the American economy,”

Callier earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering
from Prairie View A&M University. She has received numerous business
awards and honors including the Houston SBA MEDWeek Mentor of the Year;
the Houston Minority Business Development Council’s E-10 Award; a
feature on American Express’ Small Business Open Forum on building
relationships for winning government contracts; and recognition by
Minority Business Entrepreneur Magazine for her participation in an
invitation-only roundtable discussion with 20 women of color business
owners and White House, Congressional and U.S. Small Business
Administration leaders. She is active in chambers such as Tri-County
Black Chamber of Commerce and in many industry associations and serves
on the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Business
Members Board of Governors board. She also has volunteered as Chair of
the Planning Committee Government Procurement Connections, a nonprofit
organization focused on helping SMWDBE’s and Veteran-owned businesses
make connections with agencies, large primes and contract information in
the government marketplace. She is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs
10,000 Small Business Program and SBA’s Emerging Leaders Program.
