Buildium Announces Winners of Bi-Annual Collegiate Scholarship Programs

Two Scholarships, Build U. and Women in Technology, Recognize
Students Who Pursue and Excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics (STEM)

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Buildium,
the only property management solution that helps real estate
professionals outperform across all facets of their business, today
announced the winners of its Fall 2015 scholarship program, which
recognizes and awards students for their pursuit and education in the
field of technology. The scholarships, Build U. and Women in Technology,
are awarded annually in the Spring and Fall semesters.

Buildium’s
Build U. Scholarship
recipient, Priyanka Sekhar of Stanford
University, was recognized for her exceptional work in Computer Science
following her winning essay on the question, “Which company or
organization today provides the greatest service to its customers
through software design or development?”

Of the scholarship, Sekhar said, “This scholarship allows me to focus
more on the groups I am passionate about, including Applied
Cybersecurity at Stanford and Stanford Women in Business, as well as
take interesting classes with lab fees. I hope to work in technology to
increase the low number of women in the field, and I want to ultimately
use my education to make a difference in the world.”

Buildium’s
Women in Technology Scholarship
aims to encourage women to
pursue STEM education and achieve their dreams of careers in software
design and development. The Fall 2015 winner, Tabitha Arnoldy from the
Indiana Institute of Technology, submitted the winning essay on the
woman technologist she admires most.

“Winning the Buildium Women in Technology Scholarship is great
reassurance that I am traveling my destined path. When beginning my
journey towards engineering, I honestly thought the curriculum would be
the biggest challenge,” said Arnoldy. “However, it turns out, being a
woman pursuing a male-dominated field surpasses that trial by far. This
award will definitely serve as motivation to me as I continue to strive
towards success.”

“Buildium is proud to help technology students pursue their educational
dreams, and the Buildium scholarship program is one small way we’re
working to do that,” said Michael Monteiro, co-founder and CEO of
Buildium. “We know our 2015 Fall scholarship winners will go far, and
can’t wait to see the impact they make in the technology world.”

To qualify for each Buildium scholarship, students must be in good
standing at an accredited public or private U.S. university, and be
enrolled in a Product Design, Interaction Design, User Experience
Design, Engineering or Computer Science degree program. Students can be
either undergraduate or graduate level. Applications are reviewed by a
selection committee made up of members of the Buildium Marketing team,
and winners are awarded a $2,500 cash scholarship. The Spring 2016
scholarship program will open March 1, 2016.
