Consulate Health Care Announces Two Additions to Executive Management

ORLANDO, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Consulate
Health Care
, a major provider in the post-acute industry, announced
today two strategic additions to the executive management team to
enhance and continue the company’s efforts to provide the most
compassionate care to meet the needs of the communities and patients.

During the past year, the board, investors and chief executive officer
have developed a strategy to position the company for continued success
through the strategic evolution of its management team. Execution of the
strategic plan includes the promotion of Joe Conte to Executive Vice
Chairman, effective September 14, 2015, after nearly 18 years of
service with Consulate, including guiding the company through its most
recent growth period as CEO. During this time, the company has grown
from 8,000 beds and approximately 10,000 employees to 22,000 total beds
and 24,000 employees. Conte will focus on payment reform, government
relations and other strategic initiatives at Consulate Health Care,
leveraging his existing relationships in both the provider and
government sectors.

Concurrently, Bill Mathies has been appointed Chief Executive Officer,
also effective September 14, 2015. Mathies is a proven and successful
leader with more than 30 years of experience in post-acute care, most
recently as Chairman and CEO of Sun Healthcare Group until its
acquisition by Genesis Healthcare in December 2012. Mathies played a key
role in the transformation of Sun Healthcare Group beginning in 2002
through rationalization of its portfolio, acquisitions and development
of ancillary service companies leading to the spinoff of the real estate
as Sabra Healthcare REIT in 2010. Mathies has maintained an active role
by providing advisory and board services with certain industry leaders
since the Genesis acquisition of Sun and will continue to drive progress
at Consulate Health Care by leveraging and maintaining those existing
relationships.

As previously announced, following the recent retirement of Jeff
Jellerson, Chris R. Bryson has been appointed Chief Operating
Officer. Bryson brings 20 years of experience and leadership in the
post-acute industry including over 10 years as COO of Pruitt
Health. Most recently, Bryson served as a senior advisor to Formation
Capital, a leading equity investor in the post-acute industry. Bryson
will oversee the day-to-day operations and company-wide alignment of the
highest standards of quality and compassionate care that is being
delivered in Consulate’s more than 200 care centers nationwide.

Conte noted, “I am very pleased to add these talented resources to our
management team and leverage their many years of successful leadership
of post-acute care operations. The combination of Chris Bryson’s
operational expertise with Bill Mathies’ strong strategic leadership
will complement the excellent financial, clinical and legal resources
added over the past few years.”
