AOL’S MAKERS ANNOUNCES NEXT ITERATION OF MAKERS@ PROGRAM

33 Leading Companies Partner to Inspire Women in the Workforce

MAKERS, a women’s leadership platform from AOL and the largest
collection of women’s stories ever assembled, announced today the next
iteration of the MAKERS@ program, designed to partner with companies and
organizations to celebrate and acknowledge their game-changing female
employees. As part of the MAKERS@ program, these partners will have
special access to the 2016 MAKERS Conference.

Through the MAKERS@ program, senior leaders from each company will come
together as board members to empower the women in their respective
organizations by selecting three outstanding women to be honored as
awardees. Initial partners of the 2015-2016 program include Accenture,
AOL, AT&T AdWorks, Bare Escentuals, Barneys New York, BBDO Worldwide, CA
Technologies, Creative Artists Agency, Danone’s North American
Companies, Dermalogica, DigitasLBi, Dropbox, Edens, Facebook, GE, Getty
Images, Goldman Sachs, Google, Johnson & Johnson, Lands’ End, MediaLink,
Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Neiman Marcus, Ogilvy & Mather, Refinery29,
Spotify, Time Warner Cable, Twitter, UM, Unilever, Verizon, and Visa.
MAKERS will celebrate the MAKERS in each organization by providing them
with special access to events including the 2016 MAKERS Conference,
access to the larger MAKERS network, profiles of awardees on MAKERS.com
celebrating their achievements, and exclusive partner listings in
conference materials as organizations willing to take tangible steps to
recognize women who embody the MAKERS DNA.

“MAKERS empowers women to join the conversation on female leadership and
MAKERS@ is an opportunity to inspire that conversation in the
workplace,” said Maureen Sullivan, President of AOL.com
& Lifestyle Brands. “We’re honored to provide a platform that gives
organizations the opportunity to celebrate and empower their female
employees.”

The invitation-only MAKERS Conference will take place February 1-3, 2016
at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. The one-of-a-kind
gathering of leaders and trailblazers across industries will center on
changing mindsets and will include 36-hours of interactive workshops and
breakout sessions for 500 guests and speakers. The inaugural MAKERS
Conference, in 2014, featured a wide range of speakers and guests
including Gloria Steinem, Jennifer Aniston, Sheryl Sandberg, Gwen Ifill,
Mae Jemison, Martha Stewart, Roberta Kaplan, Bob Moritz, Jane Fonda,
Chelsea Handler, Megan Smith, and Val Demings.

“The theme of this year’s conference – celebrating women who break
barriers and change consciousness – is a tribute to the women in our
midst whose imagination leads reality,” said Gloria Steinem. “I
especially applaud MAKERS for understanding that, even in this digital
era, nothing but nothing can replace the depth and power of being in the
same room.”

“Changing Mindsets will allow us to explore how change takes place from
a personal to societal level,” said Dyllan McGee, Founder and Executive
Producer of MAKERS. “Participants leave with their minds expanded
through sessions with today’s leading thinkers, historic figures, and
celebrities making a difference.”
