Cosmic Forces Teams Up with Sony Pictures Consumer Products and Scholastic on Goosebumps® Mobile Game

Mobile App Based on Movie and Top-Selling Book Series Scheduled for
Release in October

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cosmic Forces, an award-winning animator and game developer, today
announced its production of Goosebumps: Night of Scares, a
mobile game, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, producer
of the upcoming Goosebumps film, and Scholastic, the
publisher of the legendary Goosebumps® book
series by R.L. Stine. The point-and-click survival game will give
players goosebumps and is due for release in time for the PG-rated film,
coming to theaters on October 16, 2015.

Goosebumps: Night of Scares is a multi-platform mobile adventure
that will feature Jack Black voicing the role of R.L. Stine, characters
from the film, and also the wider universe of monsters and stories
created by R.L. Stine. Goosebumps, a global megabrand, is one of the
best-selling children’s series of all-time – with more than 400 million
books in print in 32 languages worldwide. The game is being
developed with Free Range Games, a team that has worked on titles
including Tony Hawk, Spider-Man and Shrek. The Goosebumps game takes
players through a spooky house full of terrifying monsters. Each chapter
gets tougher to play as new monsters are introduced.

“We are thrilled to be teaming up with Sony Pictures and Scholastic on
this ground-breaking mobile project around the equally exceptional Goosebumps series,”
said Ziad Seirafi, Founder and CEO of Cosmic Forces. “The Goosebumps game
will feature superbly animated characters, monsters, and scenery
including a realistic interpretation of R.L. Stine’s haunted house, and
a VR mode that will put players right inside the house.”

“Cosmic Forces will help us extend the life of the Goosebumps film
into the mobile space, allowing Goosebumps fans to continue
engaging with the series, and its characters long after they experience
the thrill of the film,” said Mark Caplan, Vice President of Sony
Pictures Consumer Products. “The animation, special effects, and scares
of the mobile game will be a perfect complement to the eagerly awaited
film.”

About “Goosebumps”

Upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper
(Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl,
Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door, and makes a quick friend in
Champ (Ryan Lee). But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes
when he learns that Hannah’s mysterious dad is in fact R.L. Stine (Jack
Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps
series. As Zach starts learning about the strange family next door, he
soon discovers that Stine holds a dangerous secret: the creatures that
his stories made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by
keeping them locked up in their books. When Stine’s creations are
unintentionally released from their manuscripts, Zach’s life takes a
turn for the weird. In a crazy night of adventure, it’s up to Zach,
Hannah, Champ, and Stine to team up and get all of these figments of
Stine’s imagination – including Slappy the Dummy, the girl with the
haunted mask, the gnomes and many more – back in the books where they
belong to save the town. Directed by Rob Letterman. Produced by Deborah
Forte and Neal H. Moritz. Screenplay by Darren Lemke. Story by Scott
Alexander & Larry Karaszewski. Based on The Goosebumps Books written by
R.L. Stine.
