Leading Creatives for Starz Original Series ‘Power’ Will Appear in Conversation at NAB’s CCW

WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The creator and executive producer of the Starz original series “Power,”
Courtney Kemp Agboh, and the network’s senior vice president of
production, Melissa Harper, will appear in conversation at NAB’s
Content and Communications World
(CCW) on November 11th. CCW,
featuring SATCON, will be held November 11-12 at the Javits Convention
Center in New York City.

Produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, “Power” was recently renewed for a
third season after setting a Starz series viewership ratings record for
its season two finale. “Power” is an American drama that follows a New
York City nightclub owner leading a double life as he risks it all to
disengage from a powerful drug ring and focus on a legitimate life with
his family.

During the conversation, Agboh and Harper will provide an inside look at
the risks and rewards inherent in producing an action-packed drama and
will offer insight into the creative and logistical processes behind
producing a hit series set in New York City.

Courtney Kemp Agboh recently signed an overall deal with Starz following
“Power’s” second season success and will continue in her role as
showrunner as the series heads into season three. Prior to “Power,”
Agboh made her mark in television for her work on “The Good Wife” and
“The Bernie Mac Show.”

Melissa Harper, senior vice president of production at Starz, is also a
key player in the success of “Power.” Harper’s past production work has
taken her to New Zealand, South Africa and the United Kingdom, providing
oversight for the production and delivery of current Starz original
series, “Black Sails,” “Power,” “Outlander,” and “Da Vinci’s Demons,” in
addition to past work on “Boss,” “Spartacus,” “Magic City,” and “The
White Queen.”

“We’re proud to showcase the success of Starz’s ‘Power’ – the series has
made an indelible mark on the television landscape, and the work and
production elements that go into the series are exemplary,” said Chris
Brown, NAB executive vice president, Conventions and Business
Operations. “We look forward to hosting Courtney and Melissa on stage at
CCW as they give us their perspective on what it takes to consistently
create compelling TV – in the city that never sleeps.”
