Macquarie Group’s Delaware Investments raises more than $137,000 for After School Activities Partnerships

$1.9 million donated to Philadelphia-area charities through 12 years

PHILADELPHIA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Macquarie Group’s Delaware Investments today announced its annual
Delaware Investments^® Charity Golf Classic event raised more
than $137,000 to support After School Activities Partnerships (ASAP), a
nonprofit organization offering high-quality academic and social
development after-school activities to more than 60,000 children in
Philadelphia. With the help of the Macquarie Group Foundation, this
annual fundraising event has raised more than $1.9 million for
well-deserving nonprofit organizations across the region.

ASAP, a recipient of proceeds from the Delaware Investments Charity
Classic in 2009, was founded in 2002 at the request of city leaders to
bring public awareness to the dangers of the afternoon hours for
unsupervised youth in Philadelphia. ASAP works to recruit volunteers,
teachers, and organizations to lead enrichment clubs across the city,
with an emphasis on areas with high rates of poverty, crime, and
truancy. Through activities like chess, debate, drama, and Scrabble™,
ASAP expands the traditional scope of after-school activities to
cultivate communities of diverse youth for whom extracurricular passions
are the gateway to improved academic performance and postsecondary
success.
