Mobile Game Streaming Service Mobcrush Secures More Than $11M in Series A Funding Led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers

SANTA MONICA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Mobcrush, the live streaming platform for mobile games, has raised more
than $11M in Series A financing led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers
(KPCB). Early investors Raine Ventures, First Round Capital, Lowercase,
Rincon Venture Partners, Crosscut Ventures and Advancit Capital also
participated in the round. The company will use the funding to
accelerate its mission of supporting, entertaining and connecting the
world’s 1 billion mobile gamers with a one-click streaming solution.

“Mobile gaming is a rapidly growing market,” said Mike Abbott, General
Partner, KPCB. “Mobcrush is already showing engagement numbers that
prove that there’s a passionate community of viewers and broadcasters of
mobile games. The company has the right tech, the right team and the
right timing.”

Currently in beta for iOS and MacOSX with Android and Windows coming
soon, Mobcrush will be the first one-tap mobile game solution when it
officially launches across all platforms in the coming months. Without
requiring additional equipment or software to livestream gameplay across
platforms, Mobcrush is easy-to-use, accessible and focused on building a
community for mobile gamers.

“KPCB shares our vision for how the mobile landscape is evolving, and
sees the massive demand for an easy, accessible streaming solution for
gamers on the platform,” said Royce Disini, CEO, Mobcrush. “As our
company grows and we get closer to officially launching our product,
we’re humbled to see the tremendous support from our investors, but also
our partners, community and players.”

Recently Mobcrush added key industry experts to its team, hiring Google
Play games lead Koh Kim and former Apple App Store games lead Greg
Essig. The company additionally brought on Xbox veteran Eric Doty, who
is spearheading community and content partnerships, already inking deals
with the mobile game gurus at TouchArcade
for an exclusive streaming arrangement, and bringing on influencers like iHasCupquake
to produce regular streams on the platform for their millions of viewers.
