LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sigue
Corporation
, a global money transfer leader, is already seeing a
steady uptick in transactions in the weeks leading up to the largest
volume days in the money transfer industry – the first two weeks of May.
The calendar correlates to Mother’s Day celebrations throughout the
U.S., Mexico and Latin America with the U.S. holiday celebrated on
Sunday, May 8, followed quickly by its Mexico counterpart on Tuesday,
May 10.

The anticipated increase in transaction volume around Mother’s Day
coincides with the busiest part of each month, when many customers use
Sigue to pay their rent and utility bills. Sigue expects the heavy
volume to continue through the second weekend of May.

“Transactions triple the day before Mexico’s Mother’s Day – which falls
on May 10 – with customers generously honoring their mothers from far
away,” said Chris Kawula, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer. “This year we
anticipate an especially great surge because discretionary spending is
up due to a combination of factors including the rise in minimum wage,
lower gas prices and expanded opportunities in the service industry. May
2016 will likely be one for the record books.”

Sigue launched a series of customer appreciation giveaways in April and
May in honor of Mother’s Day, with weekly cash prizes ranging from $25
to $500. The giveaways are open to all customers who send wire transfers
with Sigue or to text entrants without purchase through May 31. A total
of 314 cash prizes will be awarded. Agents who conduct winning
transactions will receive an equivalent cash prize as a special
incentive to increase sales. Sigue Corporation has more than 10,000
agents in the United States.

Sigue will sponsor or participate in 700 events throughout May to
promote Sigue wire transfers, including radio remotes at retail agent
locations, large music festivals and grassroots community events across
the United States.

“We love our mothers, and giving to our mothers makes us all feel good,”
Kawula added.
