NeoTract Announces Sponsorship of Third Annual Drive for Men’s Health

Drive from Florida to California to Raise Awareness About Men’s
Health Issues

PLEASANTON, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–NeoTract, Inc., a medical device company focused on addressing unmet
needs in the field of urology, announced its sponsorship of the third
annual “Drive for Men’s Health” event and presentation by urologist Dr.
Carson Wong, chief of urology for University Hospitals Ahuja Medical
Center, at the event’s stop at Anytime Fitness today in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Drive for Men’s Health is designed to increase awareness of men’s
health issues and to encourage men to make their health a priority.
During the “Drive,” Jamin Brahmbhatt, M.D., and Sijo Parekattil, M.D.,
co-directors of The PUR (Personalized Urology & Robotics) Clinic at
South Lake Hospital, in affiliation with Orlando Health, will climb into
an all-electric Tesla Model S and embark on a journey that will cover
more than 6,000 miles, include more than 10 stops and feature hundreds
of speakers, both at events along the way and online during the drive.
The trip started in Florida on June 9, and headed north to New York and
then west to Los Angeles, where the team will conduct its final stop on
June 18.

“The Drive for Men’s Health, and the activities that Drs. Brahmbhatt and
Parekattil undertake to raise awareness of men’s health issues, are
incredibly important to everyone at NeoTract, which is why we are happy
to be sponsoring this event for the third year in a row,” said Dave
Amerson, president and CEO of NeoTract. “Benign prostatic hyperplasia,
or BPH, is an incredibly common problem that impacts more than 80
percent of men by age 70; however often men assume the symptoms are
standard signs of aging and don’t discuss them with their doctors. We
want to change these conversations so men understand that BPH is a
medical disorder that can be treated – not just an inevitable part of
getting older.”

During the Tesla charging stops, the doctors will take part in
educational lectures and activities designed to help men achieve and
maintain their optimal health. As urologists, Dr. Brahmbhatt and Dr.
Parekattil are uniquely qualified to lead discussion about men’s
urological issues.

”We are thrilled to have NeoTract as a sponsor for this year’s Drive for
Men’s Health event. UroLift provides a novel minimally invasive option
for men suffering from an enlarged prostate with urination
difficulties,” said Dr. Sijo Parekattil, urologic surgeon and co-founder
of the PUR Clinic. “With these new advances in the field of urology they
are making a difference in men’s lives, which aligns perfectly with the
focus of our Drive to raise awareness for men’s health.”

BPH, also known as enlarged prostate, is a medical condition in which
the prostate gland that surrounds the male urethra becomes enlarged with
advancing age and begins to obstruct the urinary system. The condition
is common, affecting approximately 38 million men in the United States
alone. BPH symptoms include sleepless nights and urinary problems, and
can cause loss of productivity, depression and decreased quality of life.

NeoTract’s UroLift® System provides a unique approach to
treating BPH that lifts and holds the enlarged prostate tissue out of
the way so it no longer blocks the urethra. UroLift is the only BPH
procedure that does not require cutting, heating or removal of the
prostate tissue.

Dr. Wong’s presentation on BPH and new treatment options, including the
UroLift procedure, will take place at Anytime Fitness (11517 Clifton
Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44102) from noon to 1:00 p.m. EDT.

“I’m very happy to have the opportunity to partner with NeoTract and the
‘Drive for Men’s Health’ to talk about BPH and help educate men about
the various treatment options, including UroLift, so they understand the
importance of discussing any relevant symptoms with their doctors,” said
Dr. Wong. “I often find that my patients are concerned about potential
side effects, so they decide to just deal with the symptoms rather than
proceed with treatment. It is important to make sure they are aware of
treatment options like UroLift, which has been proven effective in
alleviating BPH symptoms without sexual side effects.”

About the UroLift System

The FDA-cleared UroLift System is a novel, minimally invasive technology
for treating lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic
hyperplasia (BPH). The UroLift permanent implants, delivered during a
minimally invasive transurethral outpatient procedure, relieve prostate
obstruction and open the urethra directly without cutting, heating, or
removing prostate tissue. Clinical data from a pivotal 206-patient
randomized controlled study showed that patients with enlarged prostate
receiving UroLift implants reported rapid and durable symptomatic and
urinary flow rate improvement without compromising sexual function.
Patients also experienced a significant improvement in quality of life.
Most common adverse events reported include hematuria, dysuria,
micturition urgency, pelvic pain, and urge incontinence. Most symptoms
were mild to moderate in severity and resolved within two to four weeks
after the procedure. The UroLift System is available in the U.S.,
Europe, Australia and Canada.
