More Than $29 Million in Merchandise Certificates Issued to Schools
Since ‘Give Back to Schools’ Program Inception in 2002
BOCA RATON, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Office Depot, Inc. (NASDAQ: ODP), a leading global provider of office
products, services, and solutions, through its Office Depot and
OfficeMax brands, allows schools from pre-kindergarten through the 12th
grade to earn credits for free supplies through its exclusive “Give Back
to Schools” program.
When parents, teachers and other shoppers make a qualifying purchase at
Office Depot or OfficeMax retail stores, or online, the company gives 5
percent in the form of an Office Depot® OfficeMax® merchandise
certificate back to the shopper’s school of choice, after they present a
school program ID1. There is no cost for local residents or
businesses to give back to their communities through this program.
“At a time when many states and companies that support education are
decreasing funding, we are proud to support our customers and their
local communities through the ‘Give Back to Schools program’,” said
Diane Nick, vice president for marketing at Office Depot, Inc. “This
program is a simple way for schools to earn free supplies to assist in
their educational efforts.”
Over $29 million in merchandise certificates have been issued to the
more than 160,000 schools since the inception of Office Depot’s “Give
Back to Schools” program. In 2015, the program issued more than $1.9
million in merchandise certificates to more than 32,000 schools.
Teachers, parents, and those in the community interested in supporting
their local school can visit officedepot.com/givebts
