  • Courses on Cybersecurity from Industry Experts Help IT
Professionals Meet the Needs of the Growing Industry
  • Pluralsight Releases New Courses on Session Hijacking and
Enumeration as Part of Ethical Hacking Series

SALT LAKE CITY–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Pluralsight, a global leader
in online training for technology professionals, today announced the
expansion of its ethical hacking series, which addresses the
ever-growing need for ethical hacking skillsets around the world.
Pluralsight recently released its fifth and sixth courses of the series
? Session
Hijacking
authored by Troy Hunt, a Microsoft MVP for developer
security, and Enumeration
authored by Dale Meredith, a contract MCT and project consultant.

An additional 14 ethical hacking courses are planned to be released in
the coming months to supplement those already available. Topics featured
in the ethical hacking series include reconnaissance, enumeration,
cryptography, session and system hijacking, hacking mobile platforms and
web applications, denial of service and viruses.

“Our ethical hacking series directly serves the growing need for
ethical, expert IT professionals who can be relied on in an expanding
technological marketplace where security is increasingly at risk,” said
Chad Utley, chief content officer at Pluralsight. “For more than a
decade, we’ve sought to bring the most relevant training to technology
professionals. Because of today’s evolving online environment, where
trust is everything, ethical hacking was a clear next step in helping
professionals develop in-demand technical skills.”

Recent high-profile attacks on major corporations have increased the
demand for security analysts and penetration testers, and the market is
responding; in the last two years alone, cybersecurity startups have raised
more than $4.6 billion in funding
.

“The Target, Sony and Ashley Madison attacks are timely reminders of how
critical security is and they demonstrate the necessity for competent,
ethical professionals who can play a role in defending against online
attackers,” said Hunt. “We need to do better as an industry at building
these aptitudes at an individual level.”

The 20-course series will significantly benefit security officers,
network and firewall administrators, auditors, security professionals
and anyone concerned about the integrity of their company’s network
infrastructure. These entry-level courses help prepare learners to test
for the ethical hacker certification from the EC-Council, the most
widely recognized professional certification body for ethical hacking.

“We hear about new security breaches almost on a daily basis, but many
companies still aren’t allocating adequate budget or placing a proactive
focus on it,” said Meredith. “In today’s security landscape, companies
cannot always stop attackers, but properly-trained employees can make an
impact by slowing the attack down. Security training should be a key
focus for companies, and needs to be treated as a continual learning
process.”

The ethical hacking series is part of Pluralsight’s aggressive expansion
into new topics and specialties that comes on the heels of recent
funding, acquisitions and authorship growth.
