–Funds Raised will Help Beloved San Clemente Music Legend in His
Battle with Pancreatic Cancer–
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–San Clemente’s OC Tavern will be the venue for an upcoming night of
top-drawer music and entertainment – for a good cause. Local favorite,
Luther Rowe, who has performed for music-loving Southern California
audiences for more than 35 years, is fighting pancreatic cancer. His
friends, fans and loved ones have organized the tribute event to raise
funds to help Rowe and his wife Brenda pay their hefty medical bills.
The special “Musical Tribute to Luther Rowe” will take place Friday,
July 8, 2016 from 5pm – midnight at OC Tavern at 2369 S. El Camino Real
in San Clemente. The event will feature a who’s who of musical talent
from across the nation, including Rowe himself. OC Tavern will donate
20% of all food and drink proceeds during the event to the cause.
The event’s musical entertainment will be accompanied by a silent
auction with bid items ranging from vacations and cooking classes to
private party performances by Millertime Boogie and private music
lessons from the Cram Brothers. Raffle prizes will also be given away
throughout the evening.
Rowe, a well-respected guitarist and singer, has played alongside a
diverse assortment of music luminaries, including Mike Reilly, Garth
Hudson (The Band), Steve Young, Ike Turner, Spencer Davis, Jaimoe
(Allman Brothers Band), John Townsend (Sanford Townsend Band), Gamble
Rogers, John Hartford, Newgrass Revival, Red Clay Ramblers, Wayne Sharp,
Joe Lawing, Danny Ott, Gerry Reba, Jon Woodhead, Danny Castro and many
Bands performing at the event include Rod Frias, Hans and Janine, Roger
Dines, Friends & Enablers, Millertime Boogie and other surprise guests.
