The Time is Now to Join the Fight against Pancreatic Cancer at PurpleStride Cincinnati

CINCINNATI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#PurpleStride–More patients will die from pancreatic cancer than breast cancer this
year, moving pancreatic cancer from the fourth to the third-leading
cause of cancer-related death
in the United States, according to the
Cancer Statistics 2016 report, published by the American Cancer Society.

To change the course of this disease, the Cincinnati Affiliate of the Pancreatic
Cancer Action Network
is inviting the community to attend
PurpleStride Cincinnati. The volunteer-led community celebration taking
place on Saturday, September 24, at Sawyer Point Park will raise much
needed awareness and funds to support the mission of the Pancreatic
Cancer Action Network to advance research, support patients and create
hope.

Lori Viola, PurpleStride Chair for the Cincinnati Affiliate of the
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, got involved with the Pancreatic
Cancer Action Network five and a half years ago after her brother was
diagnosed with the disease.

“Little was known about the disease when my brother was diagnosed, and I
wanted to change that,” stated Viola. “We have made progress, but not
enough! I urge our neighbors to get involved with PurpleStride so that
we can continue to raise the crucial awareness and funds so that we can
find a cure for this disease.”
