Wolters Kluwer Health Introduces UpToDate Anywhere in Latin America

Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today the Latin American launch of UpToDate^® Anywhere and its deployment by Unimed Vale do Caí. UpToDate Anywhere enables hospitals and healthcare organizations to provide clinicians with mobile access to UpToDate^®, the acclaimed evidence-based clinical decision support resource.

Located in Montenegro, Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, Unimed Vale do Caí (UVC) is a 110-bed private hospital with more than 150 clinicians and 560 specialized medical professionals who rely on UpToDate for trusted and current clinical answers. By leveraging an advanced, patent-pending translation system for search terms in nine languages, the intuitive auto-complete feature of UpToDate search predicts words or phrases in a clinician’s native language to deliver faster results.

With the Latin American launch of UpToDate Anywhere comes the introduction of more than 1,000 Spanish-language patient education topics that doctors can email, print or review with their patients. Easy-to-understand, accurate and comprehensive information and images give doctors the tools to educate patients on their condition so they can make informed choices about their healthcare.
