AHF Lauds CA Governor Signing End Of Life Option Act
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today AIDS Healthcare Foundation President Michael Weinstein
issued the following statement on California Governor Edmund G. Brown
Jr. signing ABX2 15, legislation to allow physicians to provide lethal
prescriptions to mentally competent adults suffering from a terminal
disease that will, within reasonable medical judgment, result in death
within six months.
“We applaud Governor Brown for signing this enlightened and
compassionate legislation into law. When all feasible medical
alternatives have been explored and exhausted to treat a terminal
illness, we support giving patients and their families the option of
ending their suffering.”
