Metis’s recent opening in Chicago represents the latest in a series of
expansions for the data science training provider, including its
expansion to San Francisco, the acquisition of Booz Allen Hamilton’s Explore
Data Science
program, and the hiring of noted data scientist Dr.
Deborah Berebichez. The Windy City ranks as one of the best jobs markets
in the United States for data scientists; according to Crain’s, Chicago
is classed “behind only Silicon Valley and perhaps Seattle and New York.”

While the role of data scientist ranks as the best
job in America
on jobs website Glassdoor’s 2016 list, McKinsey and
Company reports that 140,000-190,000
job postings for data scientists
will go unfilled by 2018.

Metis is now taking accepting applications for its Chicago bootcamp,
which begins January 17. The early application deadline is November 21.
Students may also enroll in Metis’s part-time Introduction to Data
Science course, which begins January 23.
