Celebrate the Season of Giving with Books-A-Million’s Biannual Coffee for the Troops Campaign through October 29

Donated bags of coffee will be distributed by Soldiers’ Angels to
U.S. troops overseas, as well as veterans and VA hospitals across the
country in time for the holidays

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#BAM–Make spirits bright this season by joining Books-A-Million
for its biannual Coffee for the Troops campaign! Now through
October 29
, customers can provide U.S. troops and veterans with a
taste of home by purchasing a bag of freshly ground Joe Muggs Coffee to
donate from any Books-A-Million store location or online. For every five
customer-purchased bags, Books-A-Million will match the contribution
with one bag of coffee to the campaign. All donations will be
distributed by Soldiers’
Angels
to deployed troops overseas, as well as veterans and VA
hospitals across the country in time for the holidays!

“Coffee for the Troops has grown tremendously over the past four years,
and we couldn’t be more proud of our customers’ continuous generosity
and support of this campaign,” said Scott Kappler, Vice President of
Marketing at Books-A-Million. “We are equally grateful to share this
partnership with Soldiers’ Angels and look forward to giving even more
soldiers and veterans this small token of appreciation for all of their
sacrifices made to keep our country safe.”

Since 2012, Books-A-Million has partnered with Soldiers’ Angels to
donate more than 320,000 bags of coffee to troops, veterans and VA
hospitals. The company has exceeded its ‘Coffee for the Troops’ goals
each year, showing the positive impact that comes from strength in
numbers. This May, Books-A-Million customers rallied together to donate
62,000 bags of coffee for the Independence Day campaign, which surpassed
its goal by 12,000 bags.

“Out of all of the requests we receive, coffee is always the most
popular,” said Amy Palmer, President and CEO of Soldiers’ Angels. “For
many of us who have easy access to coffee, we may not view it as
luxurious, but for these brave men and women who have been away from
family and friends for months – sometimes even years – this small
reminder of home can hold all the meaning in the world and may be just
what they need to get through the different circumstances that come
their way.”

Customers looking to go the extra mile can leave a personalized message
on each donated bag to show their admiration and appreciation for the
troops and veterans. In return, each person who donated will receive a
button to wear, showing their support.
