Juan Rivera talks about his arrest: It was the tequila

Juan Rivera is explaining that his arrest  last week was nothing but an honest mistake, even though it was the tequila to blame–literally Jenni Rivera’s tequila to be exact.

Rivera talked to Univision’s “Sal y Pimienta” Sunday and explained that he started sharing “the Jenni Rivera tequila,” with fans and when he finished his performance at a Las Vegas casino police surrounded him and arrested him in front of adoring fans.

A witness with the name of Karina Rojas tweeted a picture while he was being arrested.

“La Gran Señora,” is a tequila marketed with Rivera’s image after her tragic death, and apparently the casino was not pleased with the singer giving out and promoting the liquor.

“What annoyed me was that the manager of the place saw me drinking and sharing shots with the public and she talked to me onstage and she never said anything, then when I got off stage three police cars were waiting for me” Rivera jokingly said,” I think they used more cops to arrest me then when they arrested “El Chapo” Guzman.“

His brother, Lupillo Rivera also tweeted thanking his fans and saying that everything was fine.

Juan was released hours after is arrest, and he did thank the police for acting courteously and professionally despite the otherwise unpleasant situation.
