Barcelona lines up all of the World Cup’s top stars

Luis Suarez, in just 180 minutes, has managed to score two goals to kick England out of the championship, and make headlines around the planet for his cannibal interpretation featuring Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini. Lionel Messi carried Argentina with his magic to the second round of the tournament. Neymar has led a weakened, and otherwise unimpressive, Brazilian attack in the first two weeks of the tournament, and has already cashed in four goals for the Canarinha.

These South American attackers may very well be the top three players in the tournament, probably competing with Robben, Benzema and Alexis, and Barça is looking to seeing all three suiting up in red and blue next season.

The idea in Barcelona is that similar characters to Suarez, like Hristo Stoichkov and Samuel Eto’o, actually were quite successful at the club, so there’s no reason for the Uruguayan not to exceed expectations as a blaugrana.

Liverpool’s striker actually has the perfect profile to team up seamlessly with Neymar and Messi.

The Brazilian leads the World Cup as its top goal scorer, tied with Messi, and has added a different dimension to Barcelona’s attack. In his first season, he has been more shy than usual, and has clearly not wanted to overstep on any toes, but after an already successful World Cup, and with the imminent possibility of actually keeping the trophy at home, it is very reasonable to think that next year he can finally explode in Europe soccer.

His association with Lio Messi, who has also become the clear leader all Argentina fans demanded him to become, could be terrifying.

If Messi can keep up the level of performances produced in Brazil this summer, we could witness the return of his best version, which would complement Neymar’s beautifully. The two attackers are extremely skilled and can execute the most complicated plays at the speed of light.

They are both capable of scoring over 30 goals a season, something Luis Suarez has also managed to do this season, garnering him the honor of winning the Golden Boot, as Europe’s top striker, tied with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Barcelona has a very clear vision for the next season: to bring as much top-tier talent as possible, to make up for the exit of its team pillars Valdes, Puyol, Xavi and Cesc.

So far, they have signed Rakitic (Croatia’s only bright spot in Brazil), Claudio Bravo (Chile’s impressive goalkeeper) and Ter Stegen (Germany’s next big name in goal), while there’s been an increasing interest on Germany’s do-it-all boy Tony Kroos.

If they can know capitalize on their yearning to bring Suarez on board, even after his ban is over, Camp Nou loyals will be in for a ride come next October.
