From July 31st to September 7th, Prince Royce will embark the U.S. leg of his “Soy El Mismo” world tour. Visiting over 30 cities, the bachata singer of the moment is determined to leave hundred of thousands of fans satisfied.

His lineup will include his No. 1 chart-topping hits and latest singles –all sung in the Spanish-language, because according to Royce, it’s more romantic.

“I feel that music in Spanish has more art,” the Hispanic-American born in New York said. “Latin music has more romance.”

“‘I like you’ and ‘ te quiero’ mean the same thing, but they are two different phrases. In Spanish it’s more romantic,” Royce said in a recent one-on-one with Jorge Ramos.

Prince Royce says there is no secret to be successful.

Prince Royce, who has over 25 million followers on Facebook and 3 million on Twitter, told Jorge Ramos that social media is very dangerous and for that reason he is reserved with his opinions on social topics. (Twitter@PrinceRoyce)

He did admit, however, that when he’s composing his music most of the ideas and concepts are done in English. He also spilled the news that an English-language album is in the works.

The 25-year-old artist opened up about his success, what keeps him grounded and whether awards are important to him.

“It feels nice to be recognized by the audience and to be in a category with many well-known artists,” Royce told Ramos about winning awards such as a Latin GRAMMY and Billboard Latin Music.

“The most important thing for me is to reach and touch a crowd. Being able to see a full show with people of all ages and singing my songs, that’s what’s more important” he added.

Royce, born Geoffrey Royce Rojas, admitted that despite his awards, his success and the number one hits, his family and friends are what keep him focused and grounded in his career.

“It’s a job like any other,” he said. “If you become careless, you can fall behind.”

As the intimate conversation continued between the Dominican singer and Mexican journalist, Royce revealed a list of artists that he looks up to.

Juan Luis Guerra, Aventura, Romeo Santos, Shakira and Ricky Martin are a few he mentioned. “I don’t imitate them, but I do ask myself ‘how did they get so famous?’,” he said about the reputed singers he respects.

For Royce, his secret to success is that there is no secret. “Just don’t focus on what other artists are doing,” he said. “As an artist I do what my heart says.” And by following his heart, the hot bachata singer has given life to tons of catchy songs, including “Darte un Beso.”

Like the rest of his tunes, Royce said the fused single happened because it happened. “That’s music, to be able to give a part of me to my fans.”
