Marc Anthony’s breakthrough into Latin music
Music has always been a big part of Anthony’s life and ever since he was a little boy, singing is what he dreamt of.

As a young artist, he listened to R&B and rock and got his start by writing songs and performing with groups such as Latin Rascals and Menudo.
With the passion to become a solo artist, Anthony landed solo gigs in various New York City clubs and thanks to that met Little Louie Vega, a producer who would play a big role in the start of Anthony’s career.
Anthony first had his taste of fame when he opened for Salsa legend Tito Puente back in 1992.
The following year, Anthony released Otra Nota, his first Spanish language album which got both bad and good reviews.

Thanks to the bit of success from the album, Anthony was able to go on tour but it wan’t until September 1999 that he made a true name for himself with the release of Marc Anthony, his debut English language album that went platinum six months after its release.
So far, Anthony has won two Grammy’s and four Latin Grammy’s along with being the top selling tropical salsa artist of all time.
His 13 albums have sold more than 12 million copies globally and he has won over 20 Billboard awards, including Artist of the Year.
He is also a recipient of American Music Awards and Premio Lo Nuestro Awards.

In 2013, after 9 years, Anthony released an original salsa album called 3.0 with the help of longtime producer/friend Sergio George.
“I started working with Marc back in 1992 for his first salsa album, so on and off weâve been working together for 20 years,” said George.
“Heâs very smart when it comes to making music. He really analyzes why things are the way they are and I take an approach similar to that and it challenges me because itâs like working with a counterpart who pushes me. We donât take a long time to make a record. Weâve done eight tracks in like six days of work.”
