‘Survivor’ Alum Rupert Boneham To Run For Indiana Governor?
Look out, Indiana. Your next governor may just be a money-hungry, alliance-making, schemer. Former "Survivor" contestant, Rupert Boneham announced on Tuesday his plans to run for governor of the Midwestern state, E! Online reports.
Boneham appeared on the strategy-heavy show in 2003 and has also competed in several all-star “Survivor” competitions since then. And Boneham’s political leanings seem to be more than just your typical celebrity mutterings of a future in politics.
“I have formed an exploratory committee to evaluate becoming a candidate for Governor of Indiana,” Boneham writes on his website. “I hope to make a final decision in the coming weeks, but wanted to take time to discuss my decision with family, friends and the community.”
Although Boneham hasn’t officially announced his candidacy, he’s gotten farther than other celebs who’ve thrown their hat into the political realm before swiftly retrieving it. Sounds like we’ll find out soon enough if Boneham’s just blowing smoke of if he could be the sole “Survivor” in this political race.
