Reportan una muerte en Florida al paso del huracán Michael

MIAMI – Un hombre que murió tras caer un árbol en una vivienda del condado de Gadsden, en el noroeste de Florida, es la primera víctima mortal del huracán Michael, que tocó hoy tierra como categoría 4 cerca de Mexico Beach, informaron medios locales.
El hombre, que aún no ha sido identificado por las autoridades, murió dentro de una vivienda en Greensboro, al noroeste de Tallahassee, la capital de Florida.

Michael, que avanza como huracán categoría 2 rumbo a Georgia, causó grandes inundaciones y destrucción de viviendas en una amplia zona costera del noroeste de Florida.

El ciclón presenta actualmente vientos máximos sostenidos de 100 millas por hora (160 km/h) y se dirige al nornoroeste a 13 millas por hora (21 km/h), según el último boletín el Centro Nacional de Huracanes (NHC).

El NHC, con sede en Miami, señaló que mientras avanza tierra adentro, el sistema seguirá produciendo esta noche vientos huracanados en Georgia.
