Un inmigrante detenido en un área de la frontera en Nuevo México fue internado en un hospital por una bacteria come carne.
Así lo informó Carlos Antunez, vocero de la Patrulla Fronteriza. Según el funcionario, el hombre fue llevado a un centro de salud cuando informó a los agentes que lo detuvieron sobre un erupción en su piel.
La condición, conocida como fascitis necrotizante, suele expandirse rápidamente y puede ser fatal. La Patrulla Fronteriza dijo que no hay peligro de contagio. El inmigrante sería centroamericano.
La bacteria usualmente entra al cuerpo por cortes o rasguños. La infección destruye piel, tejidos y músculos.
La Patrulla Fronteriza detuvo a unos 300 inmigrantes el viernes en Nuevo México. Varios recibieron tratamiento médico.
