Lupita Nyong’o has joined the cast of the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VII” film. And we have only one thing to say: “Let the force be with you.”

Oscar-winning Nyong’o has been recruited along with actress Gwendoline Christie, best known for her role as Brienne of Tarth in “Game of Thrones,” by film director J.J. Abrams.

“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII,” Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said in a press release, reports CNN.  “It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”

Nyong’o made the news on her social media outlets Instagram and Twitter on Monday afternoon.

“I can finally say it out loud and proud: I’m going to a galaxy far far away!,” the ecstatic actress of Mexican descent wrote.

The post garnered over 33 thousand likes on Instagram within two hours after the announcement caused a rage among “Star Wars” fans.

Some even shared their excitement with a Lupita Nyong’o ? Star Wars meme, like Kristy Puchko on Twitter, who is clearly thrilled with the big news.

“@Lupita_Nyongo combining lightsabers and high fashion is my new obsession. #starwars,” she wrote, accompanying it with nicely photoshopped images of Nyong’o ready to rock.

The epic space opera film will hit theaters next year on December 8th.
