Is Antonio Banderas still the king of seduction?

Antonio Banderas had a hectic visit to Argentina. The Spanish actor traveled to Buenos Aires to promote his new men’s fragrance King of Seduction. But, is Banderas still recognized as a sex symbol at 54 years of age?

Maybe not, if we consider the unsuccessful attempt at seducing model Victoria Vannucci, 31. It happened during the charity gala to benefit the Garrahan Hospital, held at the Faena Art Center of Buenos Aires.

 According to several journalists, Banderas approached Vannucci and told her: “We know each other, right?” She said “No” and the actor insisted. Then, he whispered, “But we could meet. You’re the prettiest Argentinian woman I’ve seen, and I would like to meet you.”

The problem was that Vannucci’s husband was sitting by her side and witnessed the whole scene. Matias Garfunkel, a 40-year-old media mogul, rebuked Banderas for his impertinence. Luckily, the couple left the party before the situation escalated.

Days after, Vannucci downplayed Banderas’s attitude: “He behaved like a gentleman. He only gave me a compliment, but it surprised me, considering my husband was by my side,” she told RatingCero.com.

Days before this failed attempt at seduction, Banderas gave a press conference in which he spoke at length about the women in his life. In front of journalists, the actor continued to maintain his image of ‘galan Latino.’

“My success with women is relative. The only certainty is death. I cannot give advice on the subject of women, it is very complicated, quite ethereal, untouchable, invisible. I think that the only thing you can do is go with your intuition,” he said. However, it seems that this time, his intuition failed.

In the beginning of a relationship

But what about Nicole Kimpel, his new girlfriend? Banderas does not deny the relationship, but is very cautious.

“I’m fine, happy, but we are still at the beginning, starting a relationship,” he says about the Dutch investment adviser.

“She’s a shy woman, has nothing to do with my profession, which is not bad. I’ve been married before with two actresses and this may have been a part of problem,” he added.

“I will love Melanie until I die”

The Spanish heartthrob also spoke about Melanie Griffith, and certainly his words were those of a gentleman.

“We are reaching an agreement. I want her to be okay. To me, that’s fundamental. For her, for my children, for what we´ve shared … Everything we´ve gone through together I will not put it in a drawer and close it. No, no, no. What has happened has been very nice. For 20 years, like everything in life, there have been good and bad moments, but it’s been a third of my life and I will not throw those years out the window. They will always be there and I’ll love her till the day I die.”

However, Griffith has hired Laura Wasser, the super famous lawyer for completing millionaire divorces in Hollywood. Within a week or so, more details of the divorce will come to light. The actress demands alimony and half of the fortune in common, including their homes in Los Angeles, New York, Aspen and Marbella.

Actually, her attitude might not be as friendly as her ex-husband’s. Perhaps Melanie is enjoying Banderas’ failed attempt of seduction, considering that the media have continued describing him as a Latin lover after the divorce, while she is portrayed as an old, unattractive divorcee.
