Tras la noticia de la hospitalización del ex jugador de los Lakers de Los Angeles Lamar Odom y de las condiciones en las que fue encontrado en un famoso burdel-hotel en Las Vegas, las reacciones en el mundo de la NBA no se hicieron esperar.
Se dijo que los laguneros habrían pospuesto un vuelo para asistir a un partido de pretemporada para que su ex compañero Kobe Bryant y el manager general Mitch Kupchak pudieran ir a visitar a Odom
En las redes se dejó sentir el apoyo a través de múltiples mensajes de sus compañeros en aquél equipo campeón entre 2009 y 2010, pero también de personalidades destacadas de medios de comunicación.
